HP Launches AR App For Virtual Photo Frames

HP has teamed up with media agency PHD and Oath’s Ryot Studio to come up with an augmented reality (AR) app. The app allows users to position virtual photo frames around their homes. Therefore allowing people to see what they’d look like before they’re printed out and put on the wall.

The AR app works using the Yahoo Mail app and the Yahoo Gemini mobile advertising platform, Campaign Live reports. The aim of the new campaign is to highlight the HP Envy Photo printer and HP Instant Ink’s Free Printing Plan.

The Marketing manager with the brand Laura Davies was quoted by the news source as saying: “This piece of content as it is a great way to combine the modern technology of augmented reality with the traditional nostalgia of printing physical photos. As a result, the app now allows this to be done with professional quality at home.

“The two worlds don’t often meet and we feel that this is a unique partnership with engaging and relevant content that we hope people will enjoy.”

The Envy Photo Printer comes with reliable wireless connectivity and Bluetooth. Therefore, it easy to print images from your smartphone and other devices. Customers can use the HP Smart App with it to print pictures from social media. This also allows you to scan on the go.

Head of Ryot Studio UK at Oath Mark Melling made further comments on the news. He stated that the new AR formats are already proving popular. Continuing to say that it’s a great way to help people make use of their digitally-stored photos. The AR formats also allow you to display more of them at home.
