Apple Discontinuing Photo Printing Service
Apple has announced that it will stop offering its photo printing service later this year. Users of iPhoto are being told that they need to place any order for prints or photo projects, such as albums, calendars and photobooks, by 30 September 2018.
The technology giant is now recommending that Apple users download a third-party app that offers similar services, rather than using its in-house option, 9to5Mac reported.
As the website noted, there are plenty of such apps that offer these services, with Mimeo, GoodTimes, WhiteWall and Shutterfly highlighted as apps that support such services for Mac users.
Of course, you may decide that it’s time to update your printer and buy one that’s designed for photographic prints.
If you go down this route, make sure you invest in high-quality photo paper before you start printing out your snaps, as well as ensuring you have a good supply of printer cartridges in the UK so that you don’t run out of any of the colours you need to have vibrant photos.
Although it might seem expensive to invest in a printer and cartridges, if you regularly order photo prints, it could well be more cost-effective in the long run. It’ll also give you the freedom to print just one or two photos at a time without it costing you a lot for individual or small numbers of prints.
